Prince of Persia: Rival Swords

Prince of Persia: Rival Swords is the first from the Prince of Persia franchise to come to Nintendo Wii. For other consoles, the game is named Prince of Persia: Two Thrones. Having a 1 year lapse before release, we hoped that this game has some added features from the Two Thrones, however there aren't any. The game has a great action adventure elements, and by addition of the motion controls making it even better. Prince of Persia: Rival Swords has a nice smooth and seamless transition between narration, fighting and platforming. This game as a great believable voice work sucking all the players into the magical world of ancient Persia. The video quality a little bit unimpressive, but this game is still a good one to have.

Red Steel 2

Red Steel 2, the second instalment from the gun slinging sword slashing Red Steel franchise. The game continues the story theme from the wild west background and the action of shooting and sword fighting all in one package. Red Steel 2 now come fully compatible with Wii Motion Plus, thus making the controls reliable and not frustrating as its previous instalment. Red Steel 2 is packed with great visuals, and the list of movement players can do will surely make them come again to play in the world. Even though its predecessor has made a fan base, Red Steel 2 still need to polish on the story line and the characters development. Red Steel 2 is a good game to play, and with swords and guns, what else can a player asks for?

Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll

Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll is the second instalment of the Super Monkey Ball series. As Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz took advantage of the Wii Remote, Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll take advantage of the Wii Balance Board. Instead of controlling the monkey inside a ball with the wii remote, now players have to control the movement of the monkey by balancing their body on the Wii Balance Board. Players will need to steer the monkey ball from start to a target, and collect as many bananas along the way. There are also several things to avoid along the way, like falling and hitting the enemies. Sadly, there are some modes that have been taken out from the franchise, thus making this instalment looks like a little bit step back from its predecessor. Super Monkey Ball: Step and Roll is a good game to utilise the Wii Balance Board, however, the unresponsive controls might frustrate.

Rapala's Fishing Frenzy

Rapala's Fishing Frenzy is the second game from the Rapala's franchise to be on Nintendo Wii. Its previous instalment, Rapala's Tournament Fishing has a bad graphics and gameplay, leaving a lot of place to upgrade. Don't be deceived by its game box art, this game is not aimed for children, instead this game is a arcade-ish, simulation-ish fishing game. This game come together with a rod and reel attachments for the Wii Remote and Nunchuk so that players will have a real feel of reeling the fish onto the boat. Rapala's Fishing Frenzy fell in a little bit of short in the appeal, choices (lures, reels, locales, etc) and motion control. The game just doesn't get to us.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade

According to a lot of online game reviewers, Muramasa: The Demon Blade is a great game to play. We were very sceptical about the claim, until we finally get our hands on this 2D action RPG game. Muramasa: The Demon Blade has a different touch on RPG world, instead of powering up the character with attributes, shields and weapons, this game only focuses on finding new swords to level up. There are a lot of swords to collect and in each has a special strength and suitable to fight certain enemies. Players will be immediately suck up into Muramasa's world because of the beautiful background and intense sword fighting. There are also a lot of intense boss battle, and thanks to the game design, players will find save spots right before fighting any bosses. Murama: The Demon Blade is a definite game to have, it is just 2D gaming at its best.

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is the latest instalment from Resident Evil franchise to be ported to Nintendo Wii. This game from Capcom took the franchise from a FPS approach in other platforms and turn it into a rail-shooting game. Don't get us wrong, this game still have the best part of the the resident evil franchise. Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles has a long story line campaign and has replayability values. Even though this game is a rail-shooting type it still has a lot of places to explore and enemies to fight. However, this game has some shortcomings such as no drop-in drop-out second player game play and AI partner is just useless. There is also problem with the camera shaking pretty bad, making it difficult to shoot precisely. Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is a good game, however this franchise need to polish their next instalment to be better than this.

Heatseeker

Heatseeker is a fun combat flight simulation game. In this game, players will have to fly currently available combat aircrafts and shoot the enemies flying a great aircraft themselves. The controls is great, making shooting down a lot of enemy airplanes a lot of fun. Heatseeker however neither have a great graphics nor a great voice acting. There is no multiplayer online or offline and there is no variety in mission selections. Final words, Heatseeker is a nice game to have, just to waste time and forget about real problems. Shoot all the enemies and just have fun.

Trauma Center: Second Opinion

Trauma Center: Second Opinion is the first medical simulation game on Nintendo Wii. The game was originally on Nintendo DS, and has been remake to fit the Wii. In Trauma Center: Second Opinion, players will take control as a physician to treat patients and go through medical treatment and operations. The game has a fast paced gameplay and has an interesting anime like story line. There are several difficulty settings available in the game thus making it easy to do the extra difficult levels towards the end of the game. Trauma Center: Second Opinion does make use of the Nintendo Wii control schemes to mimic the real life experience in surgical procedures. Some of the game requires a high precision treatment but that is just a minor problem. No wide screen support, but this game still is a good buy. A great game to inspire future doctors and physicians.

Bionicle Heroes

Bionicle Heroes is what Lego fans looking forward to play on their consoles. Even though it has humorous cut scenes and some beautiful visual elements to cling on, this game still fails in many parts making it difficult to be like upon. Bionicle Heroes was pretty lame with a lot of parts for improvements. First of all, the game is pretty repetitive, and players will be easily get bored after some time. The control method is busted, and the developer has to make do with auto targeting to cover up their mistakes. The background music is worse, where majority of the game only repeats the same music again and again. Worst part of all, all of the characters are invincible. Players do not need for any hiding, or tactics when they're invincible, its just point click and watch. Well, there is nothing interesting here, just skip this one.

DJ Hero 2

DJ Hero 2 came to the industry when the market to the rhythm and music game is in a decline. In this game, players are in charge to mimic the DJ inside the game to produce a nice music to hear. Improving from its predecessor DJ Hero 2 serves a multiplayer mode, a freestyle mode and of course a new song roster. 2 players now can play simultaneously online or offline against each other trying to show off to friends their disk spinning skills. With ample amount of new songs, DJ Hero 2 is good to be played as a single player. Show off the DJ skills and let the party started. Special DJ peripheral is needed to play this game.

The Conduit

The Conduit from Sega is a serious contender for Science Fiction First-Person-Shooter game on Nintendo Wii. The game shocks the Wii world by bringing in some good science fiction FPS onto the console. The Conduit has an excellent character control and players will also be impressed with the visuals of the game. The storyline however need some rethinking because it feels a little bit boring. The levels in the game is quite monotonous and players might feel boring quite easily. The difficulty is uneven, and players might go through difficult levels before coming into an easier one. The Conduit is a good game to buy to fill the vacuum in the SF FPS on the Wii. The Conduit 2 is coming out soon, players might be able to skip this one and hope that everything will get better in the new instalment.

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle

Continuing the idea of the first instalment of No More Heroes, here comes the second instalment entitled Desperate Struggle. This game from Ubisoft can finally utilise the motion detection of the Wii. All the problems of glitchy control from the first instalment are no more to be seen as the game embraced the new control accessory, the Wii Motion Plus. Players will control Travis, an experience assassin trying to find the one responsible for the killing of his friend. Kill all the bad people to climb up the assassin ladder to find leads towards the killer; at the top of the ladder. No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle has a fun an combat system. Feel the character's feeling, the story, and fight all the way till the end with style. The game is gore, and full of blood. Strictly for mature audience/player.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz is one of the best from Sega that fully utilise the Nintendo Wii remote control abilities. Players will need to hold the Wii Remote, tilt and swivel it around so that it will roll the monkey in the ball in the directions that the players want it to go. It is like having the power of tilting the whole game environment right in the player's hand. Drive the monkey ball through the obstacles, avoid falling out of the track and try to reach the target in the least time. Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz is when players will need to have a good hand-eye coordination and good sense of direction and physics. Even though players will have a great sense in controlling the angle of the slope, the lack of having to control the camera view might frustrate some. There are some offline multiplayer minigames, but that is not the selling point of this game.

Shimano Xtreme Fishing: Rod - Bow - Spear

Shimano is a major game player in the real sports of fishing. This game, Shimano: Xtreme Fishing: Rod - Bow - Spear is the first game to ever use the Shimano branding for the game. Different from other fishing game currently available in Nintendo Wii console, this game not only let players go into the world of fishing with a rod and reel, the players will also have bow and spear at their disposal in order to catch the excitement of fishing. There are a lot of real cutting edge fishing gear to choose from such as the Shimano Voltaeus fishing rods, Hoyt bows, AMS Bowfishing reels and accessories, and Muzzy arrow points. In Shimano: Xtreme Fishing, players are not only limited on fishing on boats, they are now able to put on scuba diving equipment and hunt the fishes underwater.

Okami

Okami was originally developed by Capcom for Playstation 2 in 2006. This game has been ported to Nintendo Wii and it cleverly utilises special control scheme of the console. Okami has a long and enjoyable gameplay and story that will surely let the players come into the magical world. Players will have to control Okami, a white wolf that runs away with a trail of flowers behind it. The brush mechanic specially developed for Nintendo Wii version has totally add some more speciality in this game even though it has been released in other console before. The quest are widely varied and players will need to have new brush techniques to take their character at play out from the challenges. Okami is a well developed game, we will certainly looking forward to see its new instalment in the future.

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles is the second game from the Resident Evil franchise ever to be ported to Nintendo Wii. Like the other Resident Evil games, players will take control on a character and fight their way through the zombies that has broken lose to the earth surface. However, unlike others in the franchise, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles does not take the FPS approach to the game, but the players now only restricted to a on-rail shooter. There are no more looking around the room and this might disappoint some players that like to poke their heads inside rooms before finishing the whole level. Even so, this game still have the Resident Evil franchise look and feel, and new players will certainly like the gameplay.

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 is a flight simulator game from Ubisoft. Players will get the opportunity to fly wide range of modern aircraft and shoots the enemy. Players will play as one of the private pilot paid by the US government to do some missions that their own air force won't do. H.A.W.X. 2 is a great game, the graphics are very nice (better than previously expected for a Wii game) and the story line is well developed. There are some glitches in control, and players might find that they're not in total control of the aircraft. Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 is a great and fun flight simulation game, but might disappoint some that expected a more realistic simulation game. Just grab the Wii Remote and shoot the bogeys down.

Trauma Team

Trauma Team is a great Japanese game where players will be needed to simulate being several types physician / healer to cure other's injuries and sickness. Talking about injuries, this game might show several injuries and for those who really are afraid of injuries, I don't think this game is suitable for them. Trauma Team utilises the Nintendo Wii control and let players choose which treatment should be use towards the patient. The vast variety of medical treatment method will certainly pull players to play more and more towards the game. The controls is pitch perfect and the characters in play will certainly makes players stick simulating to be a doctor. All and all, Trauma Team is a very well polished simulation game and would certainly be nice for those who are studying to be a physician.

Lego: Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues

Following the success of the first instalment of Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, come the second instalment of the series named, Lego Indiana Jones: The Adventure Continues (LIJ:TAC) . This game brought all the players back to the funny and adventurous Indiana Jones adventures that they love. LIJ:TAC uses the same game control method where the players can control one character at a time, and can change control between characters to utilise their own special abilities. Players can also play offline multiplayer with friends and help each other to either solve puzzles or jump over through obstacles. Lego Indiana Jones: The Adventure Continues is just what a funny and mind boggling puzzle game would be, even though some might find the puzzles are easy, this game is certainly not to miss out on.

Guitar Hero 5 is loaded with 85 songs by 83 artists to choose from. This game also includes new party play mode which allows multiple players to come in and out of the game at any time of their likings. Guitar Hero 5 is a great upgrade from their previous Guitar Hero franchise, if the players like the previous ones, they certainly will like Guitar Hero 5 a lot more than that.

Call of Duty 3

Call of Duty 3 is the first game from Call of Duty historical FPS game franchise ever to be ported to Nintendo Wii. This game has a new player control style that makes the feeling of playing this game way different from other consoles. Instead of moving right stick to target (like other consoles), players now can just literally point and shoot directly to the enemy. The story mode is intense, and players will feel like they're in the real war themselves. Call of Duty 3 on Wii however has a big disadvantage of not having any multiplayer mode, online or offline. The lack of multiplayer in this game is like cutting down the joy of FPS and make this game a very alone game. If the players don't usually play multiplayer, this game is a great one, but for those who plays multiplayer more than single players, this game is just not for them. Call of Duty 3, great game with a lot of points to improve.

Red Steel

Red Steel is a FPS game from Ubisoft with a promising future. The game combines the greatness of FPS game with sword wielding action. The new game control style makes this game different from all other FPS available in the whole gaming world. However, don't be too excited yet, because this game pact with lots of glitches in control that may disappoint players through out the game. The voice acting and dialogues is painful for the ears and the developer should have spent a lot more time in it. There are also some bugs and glitches in the game that might interrupt with the gameplay. Red Steel is a game born from a great idea, however, the end result is not that impressive at all.

Michael Jackson: The Experience

Michael Jackson: The Experience is a dance game by Ubisoft for the pop legend. This game doesn't guarantee any player to be able to dance like Michael Jackson, but it surely make it easier for them to understand the basics of MJ dancing moves. This game is packed with a lot of great songs by the singer, however lacks any way to download other tracks to the game. The dance moves are is what it is expected for a Michael Jackson moves... smooth and classy. This game however does not have any career mode that would fire up the motivation to play this game alone, thus leaving this game only fun to be played with your friends. Some motion control might be inaccurate, however, we understand that it is difficult to put the exquisite king of  pop dance move into the limited Wii control style. Michael Jackson: The Experience is a good dance and rhythm game, a must have for MJ fans.

Rapala's Tournament Fishing

Rapala's Tournament Fishing is the start of Rapala Fishing game franchise on Nintendo Wii. Players will be pleased to know that this game has plenty of lures and gears to choose from. It also has a minimal loading time and has a nice background music to accompany players during their fishing. However this game has several setbacks such as the lures are easily get entangled and players couldn't quite feel the heaviness of reeling a big fish. The fishes don't put really put up a fight, and for fishing nerd, that is the main thing that they like about fishing. There are also some graphical glitches in the game. All and all, Rapala Tournament Fishing is not the best fishing game currently on the market.

This second instalment brings players back into the  underwater world to explore a little bit more of the ocean. This game has a beautiful and realistic detailed environment for players to swim in. The game also comes with a new interesting story, not like its predecessor that lacks of it. There are also new gameplay elements added to the game franchise making it a great game to play. Even though this game has a problematic camera controls, it is still a good buy. Endless ocean has an offline multi player mode, however the mode is very limited. This game has took a step to a better and promising game franchise.

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition is the first game from the Resident Evil franchise to be ported to Nintendo Wii. This game from Capcom proves that Nintendo Wii does not only meant for child's play. This game was made for Nintendo Gamecube, Playstation 2 and PC. By throwing Wii into the formulation, now the Resident Evil 4 has been revamped again with intuitive game controls. Players will be in to the immense gameplay and the long story line has made this game having a great replay-ability value. Players will be haunted by creepy enemies through out the whole game and they have to kill them all with limited amount of bullets at their disposal. Resident Evil 4 does give the chill, and is a great game to play all over again even though it has been played on other consoles. The only setback is that Capcom didn't offer special features in this version even though they should have plenty of time to put some.

The Sims 3

The Sims 3 is the third instalment to be developed of the fun and addictive The Sims. This is the first full title to be ported to Nintendo Wii. Players can now play the full The Sims, not the children focused My Sims that are developed specifically for Wii and DS. The Sims 3 has a charming visuals and sound effects. Players will need to play a character in the game, and simulate the interactions with other fellow Sims in the game. The Sims 3 is so much fun, and the fans of The Sims will surely welcome this game on Nintendo Wii.

Mario & Sonic at The Olympic Winter Games

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games by Sega is the combination of Sega and Nintendo All stars all in one game. There are several winter games that can be chosen from the main screen, and the games are fun to be played with friends. Play speed skating, figure skating, skiing and many more and compete with friends to make it more interesting. The AI seems quite easy to beat, and a lot of the games uses the same control setting. Even though this game might seems a little bit too easy, children seems to like this game a lot. It is hard for them to get bored playing this game, thanks to the colourful and children friendly environment. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games is a great game for children to play with their friends. Should be put into consideration if the player (a child) is considering of inviting some friends home.

Lego: Batman: The Videogame

Lego Batman: The Video Game follows the achievements of Lego Indiana Jones Original Adventure. Even though the game mechanic is quite similar between those two games, Lego Batman lacks humour. This game promises nice offline multi-player with friends and also the ability to play as villains. Like any other Batman games, Lego Batman also is compact with many puzzles. The game is very rewarding by putting a lot of unlockables in this game. Players might find that the AI is atrocious, but for a Lego game, this is understandable because there is no point in making difficult Lego game.

The game also features the great vocal harmonies that was introduced in The Beatles: Rockband game. Rock Band 3 also records player's rocking progress and rewards. There are also an impressive great 83-songs list in the game. The only problem with this game is it's pricey new instruments such as the keyboard and pro guitar. Other than that, Rock Band 3 just rocks your living room.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

Call of Duty: Black Ops came from the Call of Duty historical franchise. Treyarch move to release this game to the Wii together with other consoles is very welcome. It does put the smiles back at the fans that were left disheartened after Modern Warfare Reflex one year late release and Modern Warfare II that most likely not to see the sunrise anytime soon. The game took players back into the history of many big events of the world that was supposed to be happening unexpectedly. Players will play as characters in a special forces, and are brought to do top secret operations. The storyline of the game is very good and you know what you are doing in the situation. Even though there is an online multiplayer support, but don't kid ourselves that nobody is a fan to Wii Online buddy system. This game should get a 10/10 if Wii has a decent online multiplayer system. If you have another console, you should get on playing this game there because the graphics is so much immense in those consoles. All and all... this game is as good as it gets for a FPS on Nintendo Wii.
